Migrate To Callroute

Using Sipsynergy EHC, BHC, or SIP Trunking?

Enterprise Hosted Voice (EHC) is being retired, and Business Hosted Voice (BHC) is migrating to Callroute.

Plan your migration today to secure a seamless, zero-downtime transition.

It's Time To Shift To Callroute

Callroute is a cloud SaaS platform that unifies cloud calling and user management across Microsoft Teams and Cisco Webex, helping businesses and partners connect to any phone system in minutes.

Built on highly available AWS cloud infrastructure, Callroute is the new home for customers moving from Sipsynergy hosted voice services.

Unlike other tools, Callroute is faster to deploy, simple to use, and built to solve challenges others don’t. Trusted worldwide and recognised in industry awards, it’s the smarter way to manage Teams and Webex – flexible, reliable, and ready for every industry.

Why Do I Need To Migrate?

Sipsynergy and Callroute are part of the same family. Callroute was created to simplify modern cloud calling by delivering a flexible cloud platform that interconnects carriers, PBXs, Microsoft Teams, Webex, and even analogue or legacy telephony services — all in one place.

This evolution gives organisations a single, unified layer for managing calling, routing, and number provisioning as they transition away from EHC and BHC.

As part of this evolution:

  • Enterprise Hosted Voice (EHC) is scheduled for retirement.
  • Business Hosted Voice (BHC) is currently being migrated to Callroute’s cloud platform.
  • SIP Trunking will be migrated to Callroute for improved flexibility and management.

To stay fully supported and unlock new capabilities, customers need to move their services into Callroute. Your account manager will work with you to choose the right migration path and timeline.

Will My Current Service Be Switched Off?

No immediate change. There are no announced end-of-life dates. Your current Sipsynergy services remain operational while we plan your migration with you, but there are important changes ahead:

  • Enterprise Hosted Voice (EHC) – This service is scheduled for retirement, and we will soon share detailed end-of-life timelines along with clear migration guidance.
  • Business Hosted Voice (BHC) – The BHC service is currently being migrated to Callroute’s cloud platform. Once completed, all associated phone numbers will be fully manageable through the Callroute portal. This will provide customers with additional options to seamlessly migrate to Teams Phone or Webex Calling at a pace that suits their needs, or continue using BHC, which will remain fully supported.
  • SIP Trunking – Your SIP trunking service will be migrated to Callroute for improved flexibility and management. Some equipment reconfiguration may be required, and full guidance will follow soon.

You don’t need to take immediate action. Your account manager will provide further details about what this means for you and will help you plan a smooth, well-timed move.

Migration Timeframes

The basic Callroute setup is straightforward and quick. For most customers moving from Sipsynergy services, we can complete the core migration in a short, planned window.

Additional time may be required if call queues, auto attendants, or complex integrations need to be recreated or redesigned.

Your account manager will work with you to agree realistic timelines based on your environment.

Minimising Downtime

There will be no downtime, as sipsynergy will plan the cutover of traffic at a time that suits.

The new service will have been fully tested using test numbers prior to the migration.

Your account manager and our technical team will coordinate this with you so that the move from EHC to Callroute feels seamless.

Pricing Information

You will need the necessary Microsoft or Cisco 3rd party licensing depending on the option you choose. The Callroute service cost is added to this. See our pricing page for more info on costs.

FAQ's: Sipsynergy To Callroute Migration

Has there been an end of life announcement for EHC, BHC or SIP trunk?

Yes, there are now clear plans for Sipsynergy voice services:

  • EHC (Enterprise Hosted Voice) is being retired. You will receive a minimum of 3 months’ notice before your EHC service is terminated.

  • BHC (Business Hosted Voice) is being migrated from Sipsynergy data centres to Callroute’s AWS-hosted cloud platform rather than continued in its current form.

  • SIP Trunking remains available and is not currently subject to an end-of-life notice.

Your account manager will confirm what this means for you and share specific timelines.

No, any contractual notice period (typically 90 days) for customers on EHC, BHC, or SIP trunk will be waived.

Sipsynergy does not resell Microsoft licenses; these need to be purchased separately. In some instances, Webex Calling licenses can be bundled into the subscription (at an additional cost). Please get in touch with us for further details.

No. Callroute is a cloud service. The only new hardware you may need is associated with handsets or meeting room devices. Both Teams and Webex can also run via apps on a phone or PC.

Some handsets can be repurposed via a firmware upgrade to work with Microsoft Teams. However, we recommend certified devices for best results. Options are available from Poly, AudioCodes, and Yealink.

If you have these, Callroute can interconnect different voice environments. So yes, subject to the end user having ATAs or similar equipment to connect physical devices.

We can recreate call flows, call queues, and auto attendants to match your current design or improve them as part of the migration.

Note that there may be one-off costs associated with building new call queues. Please contact us for more details.

Yes. Call recording options are available. See our Call Recording section for details.

No. EHC handsets are locked to Cisco services and cannot be used with BHC. To migrate to BHC, you will need new standard SIP handsets. Please contact us to discuss.
