Callroute’s technology team are working hard to continue to bring new features, enhancements, bug fixes and performance improvements to our Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) platform, to continually improve your experience.
Bring Your Own Carrier
We now support customers who wish to bring their own PSTN carrier service to Callroute. BYOC allows customers to connect their existing carrier and use the automation within our application to continue to manage services such as Teams, Webex, SIP Phone and SIP Trunk.
Customers will notice a new page in our portal named Carriers.
Customers who currently use Sipsynergy as their carrier do not need to take any action. Sipsynergy will show automatically as a connected carrier.
Customers wishing to connect additional carriers to Callroute may do so from the Connect a Carrier button on the carrier’s page.
Currently we support the following carriers:

More carriers will be added in the future. However, if your carrier is not listed, please use the contact us feature on custom carrier and we will expedite support for you.
To support BYOC we have also introduced number range management. Therefore the numbers page will look different to existing customers.
Existing customers with Sipsynergy numbers will automatically be migrated into the new range management structure.
The range will be named using the area code of the numbers within the range. All numbers within the same area code will be grouped together.

How you manage your inbound numbers has not changed.
Adding a number range is only supported for BYOC customers. Existing Sipsynergy customers do not need to add any numbers to Callroute. If you want to buy more numbers, please contact your partner as before.
Microsoft Teams CLI Assignment
When assigning a user’s CLI (DDI) for Microsoft Teams, there are now two additional options. With the introduction of number ranges, you now must select the area code name of the number required and then select the number you wish to assign.
After selecting the number, you now have the choice to assign the matching inbound number to to the user. This will automatically route any incoming calls to this number directly to this user. This feature reduces the time it takes to enable a Teams user for DDI calling.
Reporting now also includes BYOC call detail records. BYOC calls will show as £zero charge calls in Callroute CDRs. However, the actual cost of the call will be charged by your carrier and not Callroute / Sipsynergy. If your carrier is Sipsynergy, your calls will continue to be rated and billed accordingly.
