Looking for your first role or to advance your career in computing, coding, development, or cloud technologies? Are you a self-starter, have initiative, a curious nature, love solving problems, have a keen eye for detail and technically minded? If so, then you could be the ideal candidate to join the Callroute development team in the capacity of a junior software tester and QA engineer.
Callroute is a new, disruptive service offering from Sipsynergy. Based in Chandlers Ford (near Eastleigh) we are a fast-growing SaaS cloud service provider in the telecommunications space, working to connect environments such as Microsoft Teams to traditional telephone systems.
You will be joining a dynamic and fast-moving environment comprising of team of 6 developers. The successful candidate will be one that can demonstrate the personal qualities to fit into that team, bringing initiative and being a self-starter. The very nature of joining a small and growing company requires a certain type of individual, one that has the hunger to learn, and problem solve. A base level of technical skills will also be required for the role:
- JavaScript highly beneficial (or high-level scripting language)
- Some knowledge of API / REST APIs (ideal not mandatory)
- Interest in web technologies (design, user experience, browsers)
A higher education background (College or University) preferred. Ideally in a technical capacity, however this not mandatory if the candidate can display sufficient subject matter knowledge (self-taught).

The existing development team operate a hybrid working model of 3 days office and 2 days at home. Free snacks and drinks included.
Candidates that are not local to Eastleigh must have personal transport.
Salary range £24K – £32K pa based on experience

Core skill required (mandatory)
- Experience writing code in PHP 7 or 8.
Beneficial Experience (not mandatory but knowledge / experience in some of these areas would be very advantageous).
- Object-oriented code, with abstracts, interfaces, etc.
- Frameworks, Mezzio / Laminas / Zend, Symfony, Laravel.
- Microservices and service-oriented architecture.
- REST APIs.
- FIG PSR standards.
- Unit testing, TDD, PHPUnit.
- Git version control.
- RDBMS databases, MySQL.
- Linux command line, BASH, etc.
- Docker.
- Cloud computing; AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform.
